I have been drawn to Heraldry as long as I can remember.
As a kid I loved the middle ages, and I became fascinated with the visual language of it.
Heraldry is really just shorthand. It's an incredibly communicative language if you become familiar with its meaning.
So I looked into my own family history as much as I could and something kept coming up: deer.
My mother's family came mainly from the Scottish northeast. My father's family is primarily from Devon. For the past 3 generations we've all lived in the Canadian province of Ontraio. The deer comes up again and again in heraldry related to my family.
