Ian Turner has been working in film & television production as a member of the DGC since 2015.
He provides graphics for set and prop design.

Below are some examples of his work.

GRAPHICS FOR FILM & TV

  • Ian studied History at the University of Guelph, Illustration at Sheridan College and odd people on the subway.
The History degree provided him with knowledge, perspective and research skills and the Illustration study taught him not to just use the black straight from the tube.

He has worked in film as a member of the Director’s Guild of Canada (DGC) since 2015.

    • Close-reading of the script & Breakdown.

    • Research - I like to start with specific references (if they have been provided), then branch out based on aesthetics or theme, using context to guide the search.

    • I hoard research I like. At this point I like to share them with the Production Designer to come to a proper, focused direction. This is usually the most exciting part for me.

    • Approach relevant departments for collaboration. I am a part of a much larger group of professionals and their input is invaluable.: Printers, Set Design, Set Dec, Props, Scenics, Writers, Construction Dept., Costumes, etc. all bring a tonne of expertise and insight into where an idea can realistically go.

Then I provide some sketches for feedback based on prior conversations.
      Mockups can then be
